It is a first rate Relais & Chateaux. It is situated in the landscape of the Pyrenees, 10 km far from the Principality of Andorra.
Its panoramic position lets you look at the whole valley where the little town of La Seu d'Urgell, famous for its Cathedral, is placed.

Furniture is modern and of character. Bright colours like yellow and blue are combined together to make a contrast with dark wooden beams. A lot of rooms are mansards.
There is a beautiful swimming pool with a wonderful view over the valley. The gastronomic restaurant has a nice terrace. The buffet breakfast is very good.
El Castell is an excellent accomodation to discover the Pyrenees and to visit Andorra which should be reached early in the morning in order to avoid very long queues at the frontier.
